The cost in rupees

ISC2 does not publish a rupee price. India sits in ISC2's Asia-Pacific pricing region, so the standard fee is $749. At ₹95 per dollar that is about ₹71,200, or about ₹84,000 if 18% GST is added. Pearson VUE shows the final amount, tax included, before you pay.

Two more costs follow you. Once you are certified you pay an annual maintenance fee of $135, and a failed attempt costs the full fee again. The breakdown and a first-year budget in rupees are on CISSP exam cost in India.

Where you can sit it

Not every Pearson VUE centre delivers ISC2 exams. When we searched Pearson VUE's ISC2 locator on 28 October 2026, it listed Indian centres in:

  • null (n|u). A volunteer-run, open security community with active chapters in all six large metros, plus student chapters at engineering colleges.
  • OWASP. Application-security chapters whose meetings are open to the public; most announce them on Meetup.
  • ISACA India chapters. Worth a visit if you are weighing CISM or CISA as well (CISSP vs CISM vs CISA).

Career context

The credential needs 5 years of paid work in at least 2 of the 8 domains, with up to 1 year waived for a qualifying degree or credential. If you pass before you have that, you become an Associate of ISC2 and have 6 years to earn it.

Many Indian professionals time the exam around an appraisal cycle, most often March to April. AmbitionBox's salary page for information security managers lists CISSP among the top skills for the role, alongside CISM, CISA and ISO 27001. Sourced pay figures are on CISSP salary in India.

Preparing from India

Most candidates here study before work and after dinner, not in free weekends. A plan that fits ten- to forty-minute blocks works better than a heroic Sunday. CISSP Buddy is priced for India at ₹21,000 for 3 months of full access: our own practice questions, an adaptive exam rehearsal, flashcards and a planner that fits your weekly hours.
