CISSP cost calculator

This CISSP® cost calculator totals what the credential will really cost you: the exam fee where you sit it, a retake if you budget for one, and the yearly fee afterwards, $50 as an Associate or $135 once certified. Pick your region, your preparation and how many attempts to budget; it shows the total and the rupee equivalent at ₹95 per US dollar.

What goes into the total

The exam fee

ISC2 sets the price by the region where you sit the exam, not your nationality:

Where you sit the examStandard exam price
Americas, Asia-Pacific (incl. India), Middle East, Africa$749
Europe€719.04
United Kingdom£606.69

India is in the Asia-Pacific region. ISC2 publishes no rupee price, so you pay $749, which is about ₹71,200 at ₹95 to the dollar. Taxes depend on where you sit the exam and are added at booking; if 18% GST applies, the total is about ₹84,000. A rescheduling fee applies if you move your date, and the amount is on ISC2's pricing page.

Retakes

ISC2's pricing page lists no discount for a retake, so the calculator budgets each attempt at the full fee. You also have to wait between attempts:

AttemptWait before you can book again
After failed attempt 130 days
After failed attempt 260 days
After failed attempt 390 days
Limit4 attempts in any 12 months

ISC2 does not publish pass rates, so the calculator does not guess your odds. You choose how many attempts to budget. Many people budget one and keep a second in reserve.

Yearly fees

  • Associate of ISC2: $50 a year while you earn the experience.
  • Certified member: $135 a year, plus 120 CPE credits every 3 years.

The calculator adds the yearly fee that applies to you; see CPE and maintenance for the full cycle.

Preparation

Preparation costs range from a few books to a classroom bootcamp, and course prices are rarely published consistently, so treat any third-party figure as an estimate and use the quote you actually have. Our own plan is ₹21,000 in India for 3 months of access; prices for other regions are on the pricing section. For a side-by-side view of options, see CISSP prep options compared.

How to read the result

  • The total is the exam, your retake budget, your yearly fee and your preparation.
  • The rupee line converts US dollar amounts at ₹95. Your card or bank will apply its own rate and may add a foreign-currency fee, so the amount on your statement can differ.
  • The per-day figure, where shown, divides your preparation cost by the days of access.

A worked example

Meera in Chennai sits the exam in India, budgets one attempt, and uses our 3 months plan. Her total is the exam fee of $749 (about ₹71,200) plus taxes, our ₹21,000, and, once certified, $135 a year. If she budgets a second attempt, the calculator adds a second $749. If her employer sponsors her, this total is what goes into the request; see CISSP for promotion.

Ways to keep the cost down

  • Ask your employer first. Many organisations sponsor certifications through a learning budget. The total from this calculator is the figure for your request.
  • Avoid a retake by booking when you are ready. A second attempt costs as much as the first. Full rehearsals under exam rules are the cheapest insurance.
  • Avoid rescheduling fees. Book a date with buffer rather than one you may have to move.
  • Buy only the preparation you will use. A bigger stack of books does not help if you never open it. Pick one main resource and a source of good practice questions.

What the calculator does not include

  • Taxes beyond the GST estimate, and any card or bank charges.
  • Travel to a test centre, which matters if your city has none; see exam centres in India.
  • Membership fees of other bodies or study materials beyond the option you pick.
  • Exchange-rate movement between today and your booking date. The rate shown is checked on 28 October 2026.
